Abstract
Natural resources are heavenly assets that have come to mankind as a divine gift for their survival and sustenance without which life could not be conceived on Earth. They are derived from the earth surface and from the earth crust and exist independently of human activity. However, their use require human technological ingenuity and innovations. All economic development programs of a nation hinges around resources. Development can hardly be sustained when the natural resources of soil, water and vegetation, the basic economic capital of a country are depleted. Some of the natural resources such as soil and water are vital for very survival on earth. The real wealth of nation’s capital goods is in its soil, water, its forest and the things that produce and reproduce. Unfortunately they are being badly misused and mismanaged by ignorant human society much to their own peril. It will amount to a collective genocide.
Human existence on earth depends on its technological ability to draw sustenance from a finite natural resource reservoir by its judicious use, and its continuance depends on its ecological wisdom and ability to abstain from misusing and destroying those heavenly assets.
